Logo Terms of Use

The VBP+ logo represents the Verified Beef Production Plus (VBP+) program, which uses regular on-farm assessments to ensure Certified farms meet national standards for animal care, nutrition, biosecurity, food safety, environmental sustainability, and more. VBP+ provides assurance to consumers, investors and the wider public that beef production is safe and sustainable. The VBP+ program owns all rights, title and interest in the logo, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, moral rights and otherwise, as applicable.

Conditions for Use of the VBP+ Logo

The VBP+ logo is how people recognize our brand at a glance. Do not alter the colours, tagline or proportions and avoid placing the logo on backgrounds with poor contrast or readability. 

The logo may only be used with explicit consent from VBP+. The logo may not be used in any manner that might imply that any non-VBP+ material is affiliated with the VBP+ brand. Contact VBP+ with questions about logo use and to access files: info@verifiedbeef.ca. 

  • The black-and-red logo with the tagline on a light surface is the default version.
  • The logo should always be reproduced on a white or light-coloured background whenever possible.
  • The logo should be reproduced in four colour. Printing in grayscale is permissible when colour print is unavailable.
  • The logo should not be reproduced at a size smaller than the minimum acceptable size of 1.0 inch/25 mm width and must only appear in a horizontal position.

  • The GEP-Free program does not have a logo, certification mark, badge, seal or other mark of conformity.
  • Organizations participating in the GEP-Free program must not create or use a logo, symbol, or graphic that suggests certification or conformity with the program.
  • The VBP+ logo must not be used to represent GEP-Free status.
  • Any public reference to participation in the GEP-Free program must be made in plain text and must accurately describe the organization’s current status.
  • Proposed claims should be reviewed and approved before publication.

Verified Beef Production Plus (VBP+) provides programming and resources for all Canadian beef producers and is operated under the umbrella of the Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC), which is funded in part by a portion of the Canadian Beef Cattle Check-Off and is directed by a committee of beef producers from across the country.*

*VBP+ Inc (certification services) operates independently of the BCRC and is not funded by the Canadian Beef Cattle Check-Off.
